Privacy Notice

StumpMath uses Google sign-in and evaluates mathematical problems submitted by contributors. This notice describes the information involved.

Account and submission data

  • Google sign-in provides account identifiers, email and profile information. StumpMath also records your chosen public name and session information, plus the Terms of Use version you accepted and when you accepted it.
  • A submission includes a problem, final answer and worked solution, linked to your account with its submission time and acknowledgement record.
  • The evaluation produces answers, similarity evidence, outcomes and game points. Web screening records limited search evidence.
  • Technical logs processed by StumpMath and its infrastructure providers may include IP addresses, browser information, request times, errors and security events.

Please leave personal details and confidential material out of problems and solutions.

Evaluation and external processing

Account data enables sign-in and access to your saved results. Submission content is processed to find similar problems, check your solution, challenge a solver and calculate points. Providers supporting authentication, hosting, storage, background work, AI and search process the information needed for those tasks.

AI evaluation sends contribution text to external providers. Web search sends a query generated from the problem, which can reveal distinctive parts of it. Provider practices differ, including whether submitted text is used for their model training.

Contributed problems and solutions may also be used for training and evaluation, or included in commercially licensed and redistributed datasets. The contribution licence describes these uses.

Leaderboard and saved results

The public leaderboard displays chosen names, ranks and qualifying scores. Problems, solutions and detailed results are private within the app; dataset distribution is a separate use of contributed content covered by the contribution licence.

Browser storage

Session cookies support sign-in. Browser storage holds work in progress and submission-recovery information. Editor text is sent for evaluation when you submit it.
